Join The Improv Shop at the Tin Can Tavern and Grille's Locust Avenue location for a free comedy show on Thursday, March 1 at 8 p.m. Shows are held in the upstairs lounge (take the stairwell at right upon entering).
Longform shows, which will showcase the talents of Improv Shop students and visiting performers throughout the year, will continue to be held on the first and third Thursdays of every month. Upcoming dates also include Thursday, March 15 and Thursday, April 5.
Grab a beer at the bar, a sandwich from the Tin Can's kitchen, and relax as our longform teams Magic Ratio and Ted Dangerous create completely original comedy based on audience suggestion.
The Improv Shop Presents: Level 5 Student Showcase @ The Lab is the improviser's night of improv. After spending dang near a year together, the latest graduates of The Improv Shop's 5-level training program are ready to do their run of student shows. They've developed their form, honed their skills, drank beers, and "yes and-ed" each other to near death. They're ready and willing to create magic in front of your eyeballs.
Focusing on experimentation and community-building, we confidently put forth the hypothesis that students and veterans, given a chance to play together, will create a combustible and explosive product of funsies.

While the people we hung out with in high school obsess over college kids throwing balls into hoops, we will obsess over the people we currently hang out with playing make-believe with each other. The masses will be clapping for last-minute shots while we might clap for an unforced callback. While they stare at their TVs eating chicken wings, we will stare at someone acting like a TV while someone else eats invisible chicken wings.
The first three rounds will be on Fridays March 9th, 16th, and 23rd. The championship will be played on Friday, March 30th. Three teams will play each night. Only the first-placed team will advance to the next round. The winners of the first three rounds will advance to the championship.
